Recent grants from Caledon based foundation

Caledon, Ontario - As part of an effort to highlight the important work and ongoing needs of local health and community service organizations, TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley and the Humeniuk Foundation announced more recipients of their donation program toward relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ongoing donations aim to showcase organizations dedicated to providing essential health care and programs in the Caledon community and beyond, providing a boost and potentially raising support for their needs.

The second of a series of donations includes a commitment to match contributions to the Headwaters Health Care Foundation up to $50,000 from April 13 until May 1, with a number of additional donations to be announced in the coming days.

Announced this past week were a further $25,000 for Caledon Meals on Wheels, $50,000 to the Orangeville Food Bank, and $50,000 to the Children's Aid Foundation of Canada.

“At a time when so many in our community are in need, we felt it was essential that our organization and family not only give these organizations financial support, but also use our platform to highlight the important work they are doing,” said TPC Toronto President Chris Humeniuk.

TPC Toronto and the Humeniuk Foundation previously announced a $100,000 donation to Caledon Community Services toward COVID-19 relief efforts on March 30.

“We hope this program not only provides assistance during these difficult times, but builds awareness and stimulates support from throughout our community, whether through financial donations or even volunteering one’s time,” added Humeniuk.

The Headwaters Health Care Foundation focuses fundraising efforts on ensuring critical needs are met for priority medical equipment at the Headwaters Health Care Centre, which serves the Dufferin County — Caledon community.

This is an unprecedented situation and this gift will better enable us to quickly respond to all of the hospital’s emerging needs due to COVID-19, while not ignoring the needs of our large, and still very active, obstetrics program (over 850 births per year), emergency department (over 42,000 non-COVID related visits annually) and of course our in-patient units, including our ICU,” said Dora Boylen-Pabst, CEO Headwaters Health Care Foundation.

“This gift helps Caledon Meals on Wheels provide quality, nutritious food to people in need throughout our community. At a time when so many people face challenges, we’re proud to continue programs that safely healthy meals and groceries to our clients, and we’re so thankful to TPC Toronto and the Humeniuk family for their support,” said Christine Sevigny, Executive Director of Caledon Meals on Wheels.
